East Meets West 188: Never is not ever never
Anywho it's time for an ol' favorite: comments!
1. Yankees are out & the so are the Phillies...life is goooood. Even though I'm still hurting by the last minute mediocre performance by my NY Mets, it's good to know that our neighbors up north have failed once again. As for the possible departure of Joe Torre, quit the marketing propaganda and get to the point: is he leaving or not?? I hate it how some newspapers are blowing this up as if it's some historical decision which will determine the existence of mankind. Just...get to the point!!
2. Roger C? Hmm...nah I don't think I remember ever having a long-lost relative.
3. C+P is no more. my other half Jon and I just don't have enough time to do the whole podcasting gig, and now because of my job I really don't have time for anything else. Who knows, maybe we'll resurrect it in the future. But in the meantime, that' the way it is...sadly speaking.
4. If you're wondering why I've included "Corporate Moo-Cow" into my moniker, click on the link all the way up above.
5. Speaking of omelettes, I'm hungry for some irish bacon.
Honestly, not that your past episodes are crap (or have been crap), however they weren't all that interesting to me. Hate to pass along the news, but yeah. :) As for this episode, I really enjoyed it.
who gives a crap if you talk about yourselves? Like you said Tom, "It is your podcast."
Tom, I too hate Fanta; RC and Pepsi are the best!
Roger, I am not a fan of Life Aquatic; Bill Murray is hilarious, but I found this movie to just be well, stupid. However, I can agree with you that I don't like Owen Wilson. He's funny, but there's some movies that he's been in that he just plays stupid parts. The only movie I've enjoyed him in is "Meet the Parents."
Before I go on: Tom, Roger do you catch much football? Anyway, how 'bout them Cowboys? Yeah, they suck. Glad that the Patriots won, and this Monday we have the Falcons and the Giants; and as much as I love the Giants, I know that the Falcons are going to win. :( Also Tom, have you noticed how that in Baseball you don't see that many players who are cocky, and arrogant? Yes in sports you have to have a sense of arrogance, however there is such a thing as too much - in other words Terrell Owens. He's probably the ONLY football player that I can't stand. Personally, he's WAY TOO OVERRATED.
More Texas [football] news...
Your Alma Mater [University of Texas, Hook 'em Horns] did pretty well this weekend. Finally, a big Big 12 win. :)
Lots of sports news...anyway, now to baseball: The Rockies have had a great game so far, and well, right now I [and everyone else watching] are expecting them to win.
Finally caught my breath, think that's about it for this week. Again, great episode this week. :)

On the IT Crowd: while I love Joel McHale (from The Soup) who was going to star in it, thankfully the show is gone from the midseason schedule.

The reason I say thankfully is because that's all geeks need is yet another demeaning, unfunny sitcom about geeks. Big Bang Theory is number one in that category, which is neither funny nor endearing, nor is it well-acted aside from the tall skinny guy.
BBT is demeaning to geeks/nerds and continually reinforces the stereotypes that we are outsiders to the mainstream community, however true that may be in many, but not all, cases. Chuck, as much as I feel a sense of blah when watching, is at least geek chic, as is David Tennant's Doctor Who.
Perhaps I'm being melodramatic about the whole thing, but I know is that I hated the show with a passion when I saw the pilot back in June.
Loved the October fest... i thouth you would comment abou al gore...
From regional accents to regional speech - I've heard Canadians say "Eh?" that sounded exactly like the Mackenzie Brothers from SCTV. I was floored when I first heard it but tickled by it too, since usually I heard them from hard-core hockey fans (And no, Roger, I wasn’t physically tickled by the Canadian hockey fans).
Another fave: Pidgen from Hawaii. The mix of local slang and ethnically-derived enunciations is sometimes challenging to decipher and yet enjoyable to listen to.
Maybe more economic or sociopolitical topics will bump up podcast listenership. How about a special Octoberfest podcast with both of you drinking and p-casting one Sunday afternoon.
1: Yep, you may not have the numbers of listeners other shows might, but the ones you do have are high quality, if we do say so ourselves.
2: Feed the Roger.. as long as he keeps his shirt on.
3: I agree with Roger, Mountain Dew: Code Red is nasty, as was that grape flavor they had a year or two ago. I do however like the orange Livewire flavor and the Game Fuel isn't bad, kind of a mix of mountain dew and fruit punch. Speaking of mix, original mountain dew is really good mixed with orange juice.
4: I like my grits with butter and sugar.
"Nerds sure are awkward, am I right?"
"Boy, this woman doesn't understand any of the super-cool math jargon we use."
"We're accomplished adults, but we're beat up by other adults because we're nerds. That sucks."
It makes me want to vomit a little.
I'm sure if you drink lots of the right type of softdrink and brainstorm, you can find a way to regain the lost herd. Maybe you could all get stranded on an island ....and that bear could just turn out to be Dvorak.
finally - nothing against Fanta (aka nazicola) but Moxie is the most heinous softdrink on the planet.
Hope you guys like it.
Tom, you don't really HAVE to use it you know. It's just something we (fans) like to do... :)

Listening to EMW somehow informs me on topics that I may never hear from mainstream media and other podcasts. The podcast entertains me when you talk about popular culture that only Tom and Roger can uniquely deliver.
One minor gripe though, the sound quality can be very inconsistent. I know that you record on different equipments so no need to explain, it's just a minor complaint from me.
Peace, bros!
